DESTEK 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset: Introduction

We believe that with the rapid increase of technology and advancements, virtual reality is playing a vital role. And Desktek has already designed and manufactured VR glasses to play with your smartphone in virtual reality. More than 300 apps on Apple App Store and Google Play Store have been updated for virtual reality. Just search for VR games or 3D split screen and download them to enjoy the games and videos in VR headset. You can enjoy the Virtual Reality with the Desktek 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset at an effective cost.

The best thing about these VR headsets is that they do not harm your eyes and protect them from harm in the best possible way. The FOV of this headset is 90, bigger the FOV means more damage will be done to eyes but as this one has less FOV, not much harm will be caused by manual use. Desktek had tested this headset with a lot of people for ensuring the best quality watching 3D movies or play games. As our eye lenses have reasonable focal length, so you don’t need to adjust the focal length of the headset.

Full Specifications and Features

Now when you have learned a little about the Desktek 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset, let us have a look at its full specifications and features.

  • Humanized Design: This headset has a humanized design and looks cool from the points of view of a geek. If we compare it with Desktek sponge face or the flimsy PU leather face, this one is more comfortable and breathable to protect your face. The inbuilt adjustable straps don’t let you feel pressure from the bridge of the nose.
  • Use Fresnel Lenses like Third Generation Oculus Only: These types of lenses reduce the clarity to protect your eyes from the harm caused so that you can easily use it for a long time without any worries. These are well shaped with non-toxic environment materials and secure the breathable sponge to protect your eyes and your skin from the headset so that you do not get and tan.
  • Broad Compatibility: This headset is suitable for almost every smartphone available in the market from 4 inches to 6 inches. More than 300 apps on Google Play Store and Apple App Store have been updated for virtual reality.
  • With Reasonable Focal Length: The Destek VR headset does not need any kind of adjustment but it takes a couple of minutes to adapt 3D scenes so that they become clearer for you to watch. It is suitable for myopic within 300 degrees but not suitable in any way for presbyopia.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The package in which the DESTEK 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset comes is just a simple brown colored cardboard box. Inside the package, you will find the headset wrapped in the bubble wrap for extra protection along with the cleaning cotton cloth, user guide and the nose pads, foam spacer and an NFC chip. If we look at the package after unboxing we get the VR glasses, Noise pads, Cloth, NFC, and the user manual. The VR headset is also protected by the plastic to further protect it.

If we talk about the build of the VR headset it is made of plastic and is pretty light in weight. There is a three sectioned adjustable strap, one that goes across the top of your head and the other two for sides. At the bottom, you can find the moveable joints for the front cover and the rounded hinge for your nose.

If you will look at the back of the VR headset you will find pretty well-made and well-padded foam for comfort because that’s where you will look through. Then you will find the lenses made of plastic that look a little fuzzy.

Now let us talk about the section where you will put your phone that is the front section. There is a door that opens and closes to keep and take out your phone easily. It gets attached to the plastic case with the help of magnets attached on both the surfaces. Inside it, you will find that the surface is fully padded with foam to protect your phone and also there’s around spacer inside it but you can also use the one provided with a package of the headset, only in case you need it.

I have also tested the Samsung Gear VR headset and the Knox Labs Google Cardboard VR and I would say that the Destek one is in the middle of these in terms of weight and size. The only major difference between them is that the Samsung Gear VR headset has a touchpad to use within apps and the Knox Labs Google Cardboard headset have an inbuilt magnetic switch button but the Destek headset lacks all this. I would say that the price it is offered at, it should have an in-built button for switches between apps.

I tested my Galaxy S7 with this VR headset and the Moga Controller to switch within apps and control movements as it does not have any button with the interface. The magnetic door held the device pretty well and I won’t complain anything about it as the phone fit perfectly in the headset.

But I would probably complain about the lenses. The lenses are not that great as described at the site. They are kind of fuzzy and seem like we’re not completely manufactured and all this makes the image blurry. In this way, you won’t get that great experience just like the Google Cardboard VR headset.

Yes the quality was up to the mark for the price offered and my phone was fit perfectly but honestly, I would say that the Knox Labs Google Cardboard VR headset is far better than this Destek one in every aspect.

Pros:

  • Light in weight
  • Comfortable to use
  • Well-built overall

Cons

  • No magnetic buttons or anything like that
  • A bit expensive
  • Lenses seem to be fuzzy that makes things blurry

Conclusion

The DESTEK 3D VR Virtual Reality Headset is not the best VR headset in my opinion as it lacks the magnetic buttons to switch things between and within the apps and the lenses seem to be a little fuzzy that makes things blurry. But wait it is not that bad considering the price point.

The headset is well built and is comfortable to wear for longer period of time. And the nose pad provided with the package makes it more comfortable for you to wear it for hours. But still, this would not be my first choice as it lacks the magnetic button.

At last, I would say that if you are fine without the magnetic buttons a=then go for this VR headset and you can easily buy it from Amazon from here.
